F1 Boston’s Ascari Restaurant & Bar Appoints New Chef Adriano Rodrigues

The Ascari Restaurant & Bar at F1 Boston has a new face and new flavors coming from the kitchen this Spring, with the appointment of Chef Adriano Rodrigues, and the introduction of a new menu.

Unveils New Northern Italy-Influenced Menu

Rodrigues trained under renowned Chef and Restaurateur Marisa Iocco, the driving culinary force behind many of Boston’s best Italian restaurants, and Roberto DeSimone from the North End’s highly acclaimed Bricco. He brings a culinary-style influenced by the cuisine of Northern Italy to Ascari and is unveiling a new menu that combines both this Italian flare with an array of traditional ‘pub-fare’ favorites.

Prior to joining Ascari, Rodrigues was the Executive Chef until July 2010 at Sagra Ristorante, a Davis Square, Somerville popular restaurant known for its’ extensive Italian-innovated menu. Before that he spent time as Executive Chef and Sous Chef at several other leading Boston-area eateries and trained at the Culinary Institute of Uniever.

Adriano has developed a perfectly balanced menu that includes a wonderful exploration of Northern Italian cuisine with a mix of traditional pub specialties. There’s truly something for everyone.”

The new menu offers a wide array of appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, burgers, sandwiches and pizza. Popular new Italian-inspired appetizers include Fried Ravioli, Arancini and Eggplant Involtini – grilled eggplant filled with herbed ricotta and finished with provolone – plus traditional favorites such as Chicken Wings, Shrimp Cocktail and Ultimate Nachos.

Several new entrees have also been very popular – Ravioli al Loro Piceno, Spaghetti Bolognese and Ziti Della Costa, ziti in a white wine garlic sauce, accompanied by sweet Italian sausage, roasted red pepper and broccoli rabe. Classics such as Chicken Parmesan, Grilled Steak Tips and Baked Haddock are also featured. A whole new line-up of delicious pizzas has also been added.

Adriano also runs weekly specials to tantalize diners, such as Braised Lamb Shank, Homemade Gnocchi and Brodetto Di Pesce Fresco – a savory fish and shellfish stew that blends scallops, clams, mussels, monkfish and calamari in a spicy light cherry fumet and is served with Grilled Bruschetta. Freshly baked breads as well as homemade desserts are offered to round out a truly spectacular dining experience.
