My Big Fat Greek Restaurant is ready for business with a soft opening scheduled for mid-April, followed by day-long Grand Opening festivities scheduled for May 17th starting with an 11:30AM ribbon cutting, followed by half-price drinks all day culminating in an evening of live music and Greek dancing, today announced retail developer Reeve Benaron, Founder and CEO of Beverly Hills-based Bear Industries, LLC, the restaurant's owner and developer.

Grand Opening festivities will take place inside the restaurant, on its two European-style outdoor patios and spill onto the adjacent parking lot, also reserved for the event. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Temecula charities -- Jacob's House and Boys' and Girls' Club of Southwest County -- as part of the restaurant's commitment to planned giving and community engagement.

Benaron also announced executive and culinary staff appointments -- Dawn O'Connell, My Big Fat Greek Restaurant Temecula's General Manager; and Bryan Sadler, its Executive Chef; and two corporate advancements, Alan Krier, as Executive Vice President, Operations; and Milena Merrill, as Vice President, Marketing & Business Development.

My Big Fat Greek Restaurant Temecula will offer Monday night wine tasting in conjunction with local wineries; live music on weekends and a monthly Greek Festival to feature authentic Greek music and dancing. The restaurant turns from family-friendly in the early evenings to a nightlife-centric environment after 10PM until 2AM on weekends, with an eye to add Thursday nights in the near future. The restaurant will also offer $7 lunches and affordable late-night offerings.

Benaron said that there are plans in the immediate future in the pipeline for three additional My Big Fat Greek Restaurants Southern California -- the start of an ambitious expansion strategy to bring dozens of 'fat Greeks' to Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties. Benaron has earmarked a portion of each restaurant's profits for planned community giving in Temecula, and in every community that his franchises will serve.

Benaron brings a track record of successful real estate development with a focus on growing restaurant brands and a vision to bring thousands of jobs to the region, despite a challenging economic environment.

"We are extremely excited to be the exclusive Southern California developers for My Big Fat Greek Restaurants, currently the largest sit-down Greek restaurant in the nation, and look forward to making the brand synonymous for great Greek food and affordable great times," Benaron said.

Best known in the community for having founded Temecula Saucers Ice Hockey Organization with her husband, O'Connell brings over 20 years restaurant management experience to her new position.

"I love anything that has to do with people and Temecula has every flavor of people. I know that they will flock to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant Temecula not only for the great food, but for the sense of community because we plan to offer more than just a place to eat, but a place to congregate, have fun and make memories," O'Connell said.

Le Cordon Bleu-trained Sadler, is also a graduate of the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena and a Veteran, United States Army, 3/4 A.D.A.R., 82nd Airborne Division, with several years experience as an executive chef, will head My Big Fat Greek Restaurant Temecula's kitchen.

Krier, who has worked in commercial real estate and operations for over two decades, serves as Benaron's key executive in franchise expansion and company-wide operations. Entertainment industry marketing veteran, Merrill spearheads the restaurant's business development, focusing on production of turnkey corporate events; wedding catering; and co-promotional opportunities/live events at local vineyards and other businesses.
