Randall Grahm, founder and President-for-Life, is inordinately proud to announce the opening of his newly expanded Bonny Doon Vineyard Cellar Door Café, located in the tasting room premises of his Santa Cruz winery. Beginning Saturday May 16th, from Wednesday through Sunday, the Cellar Door Café will offer a selection of small plates, conceived to felicitously match with the eclectic array of Bonny Doon wines from noon until 9:00 p.m. More significantly, beginning each evening at 5:30 p.m., a family-style, three course, daily changing dinner menu will be served at unique communal tables. A wide range of Bonny Doon wine pairings will be available to complement both the family-style fixe price menu and the small plate options.

Grahm passionately believes that the experience of dining ensemble is a powerful way to re-enforce a sense of community and build bridges between people. Working closely with local superstar Iron Chef David Kinch, Grahm has developed a unique café dining experience, emphasizing a wholesome, health-conscious menu, featuring the finest locally grown organic and biodynamically grown fruits, vegetables and fish. Chef Charlie Parker, a protégé of Kinch, is the Cellar Door Café Executive Chef, in charge of the newly expanded kitchen, menu and culinary program. His nightly prix fixe menu, which changes daily, will be posted on-line at www.bonnydoonvineyard.com/visit_us/ allowing Cellar Door Café guests to plan ahead.

Charlie Parker, a Menlo Park native, spent 3 years in the ranks at the Michelin **starred Manresa Restaurant in Los Gatos, rising to the level of sous chef under the tutelage of chef-owner David Kinch. Chef Parker was also the opening sous chef at the acclaimed Ubuntu in Napa, Ca, and spent the early part of his career at the Village Pub in Woodside, Ca. Parker has joined the Bonny Doon team after returning from a stint at the Michelin **star Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Joining Parker is Cindy Molchany, Cellar Door manager, who shepherded the recently expanded kitchen remodel as well as last year’s Tasting Room move and re-design from the original site in Bonny Doon to the current locale at the winery in Santa Cruz. Molchany, who joined Bonny Doon in 2007, directs all Tasting Room programs and sales as well as Bonny Doon’s growing corporate endeavors.

The Bonny Doon Vineyard Cellar Door, modeled on the form of a chambered nautilus and largely constructed from recycled wooden wine barrels and tanks, offers a spacious and somewhat ethereal sense of beauty, complexity and order, qualities aspired to in all aspects of our winegrowing process. The Cellar Door offers extensive wine tastings and wine education on a daily basis, with the recent addition of extended hours from noon to 9 pm Wednesday through Sunday and noon to 5:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday. Located at 328 Ingalls Street in Santa Cruz, the Cellar Door Café features a community table, traditional café counter and table seating for up to 60 guests. Small plates are served from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday with a prix fixe three course daily dinner menu served from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm except for Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Easter and July 4th.
