Black Angus Steakhouse Names Bruce MacDiarmid President and COO

Black Angus Steakhouse announced that Bruce MacDiarmid has been selected as President, succeeding Ralph Roberts, who was president of Black Angus Steakhouse for over 20 years.

"Bruce will provide the strong direction, the insightful vision, and the positive leadership style necessary to continue the evolution of Black Angus Steakhouse as The Genuine American Steakhouse," Roberts stated in his resignation letter to employees.

"Bruce MacDiarmid is a proven executive with an extraordinary blend of strategic, analytic, business and leadership skills," Ron Maccarone, Chief Financial Officer. "His selection was endorsed unanimously by our Board of Directors, and we are confident that he is the ideal person to lead Black Angus Steakhouse into the next chapter of its history."

Our senior management team includes Ron Maccarone, as the Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Kelvie, as Vice President and General Counsel, and Doug Gammon, Vice President of Human Resources and Training."

A 20 year veteran of the restaurant industry, MacDiarmid most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Black Angus Steakhouse. During his two year tenure as COO, MacDiarmid led both the Operations and Marketing Departments. His leadership and strategic vision provided the groundwork for the future success of Black Angus Steakhouse. The operations team has seen tremendous progress that is highlighted with major improvements in guest satisfaction -- since November 2005 guest satisfaction scores have vastly improved from 61% extremely satisfied to over 80% extremely satisfied.

Prior to joining Black Angus Steakhouse in 2005, MacDiarmid held a highly successful career with Chevys Fresh Mex Restaurants. During his tenure, the Chevys brand grew explosively from a small regional restaurant company to become the leading full-service Mexican dinner house chain in the country. MacDiarmid also worked with numerous other growth concepts including: WrapWorks, Fuzio Universal Pasta, Rusty Pelican, Hungry Hunter, Boathouse, Mountain Jack's, and Carlos Murphy's. MacDiarmid has held executive level positions in Operations, Training, Advertising and Marketing. He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University and attended Graduate School at San Diego State University.
