This winter, the old adage "what is old is new again" will be born out, when New York City's Tavern on the Green re-enters the live entertainment arena with a limited engagement restoration of its cozy wood paneled Chestnut Room as a music showroom. The room at the landmark New York City restaurant so closely associated with the legacy of the late Nancy LaMott will stage "Live, From The Chestnut Room" from Feb. 15 through March 16. On select Thursday evenings and every Friday night during that five-week period, "Live, From The Chestnut Room" will showcase exciting musical talent and cabaret artistry at a 7:30 p.m. show, complemented by Tavern's appetizer and dessert menus, along with full bar service.

Master music maven Lenny Triola, whose Chestnut Room bookings of jazz legends Illinois Jacquet and Little Jimmy Scott in the 1990s significantly helped renew their careers, is back in charge of the line-up. First up will be Maureen Hamill, a charismatic singer with a seamless voice and an electrifying presence, who will not only kick-off the Chestnut Room's winter revival on Feb. 15 and 16, but will end it on March 15 and 16.

The line-up between Hamill's two-night gigs will be: The New York Swing 4 on Friday, Feb. 23; Les Kurtz and Deborah Newallo on Friday, March 2; and Lou Lanza -- a Chestnut Room veteran -- on Friday, March 9.

"Live, From The Chestnut Room" doors will open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 show. There will be a $20 per person music charge and a $15 food and beverage minimum. For reservations, please call (212) 873-3200 and specify interest in "Live, From The Chestnut Room." Before or after show dinner reservations in another one of Tavern's sumptuous rooms can also be made when making arrangements for the show.
