On the heels of their unprecedented 1st annual 2005 Making Life Delicious Fundraiser, Waterloo Restaurant Ventures along with their nine West Coast Romano's Macaroni Grill restaurants, are eager to raise funds at the 2nd annual Making Life Delicious Fundraiser. Last year, Waterloo raised and donated over $100,000 to Portland Habitat for Humanity, sponsoring two homes in the SE Portland region, and moving forward their goals are even higher.

This year the Making Life Delicious Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006. Waterloo will donate all sales from their nine West Coast Romano's Macaroni Grill restaurants, from open to close that day, to Portland Habitat for Humanity. Customers need not donate anything, merely come enjoy a meal, order appetizers, or have a drink-even order food to go-and Waterloo will donate 100% of sales to Portland Habitat for Humanity.

'We are so appreciative of Romano's Macaroni Grill and Waterloo's partnership with Portland Habitat,' said Steve Messinetti, Executive Director of Portland Habitat for Humanity. 'They not only raise money to build homes, but give their employees paid time off to help build the homes. We also admire their commitment to talking to customers, employees and vendors about the issue of affordable housing. Their generosity toward our mission and impact on the community is immeasurable.' Waterloo has recently announced their commitment to building two homes in Portland during 2007, a project which will be funded entirely by the Making Life Delicious 2006 Fundraiser.

'Donating to our local community, especially Habitat for Humanity, is a priority and a passion for our company,' said Barry McGowan, CEO of Waterloo. 'We're a locally owned company, and believe it's important to give back to the communities our restaurants are rooted in. Habitat for Humanity is about offering a hand-up, not a hand-out; they offer opportunity for low-income, hardworking families to own a home. I believe Making Life Delicious and Habitat are the perfect partner to raise money, create awareness, and spread the word that helping out is as easy as enjoying a meal with your friends and family.'
