National seafood restaurant operator enters N.C. market expands in Northwest

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSSR) announced it has expanded its nationwide presence with the addition of two new restaurants to its growing portfolio, marking the company's entry into the North Carolina market and further growth in the Portland area.
The first North Carolina-based McCormick & Schmick's restaurant is in Charlotte, where the company plans to open another location early this summer. The company also has opened an M & S Grill at the Bridgeport Village in Tigard, Ore.

"We are extremely excited to enter the North Carolina market, which we believe represents a real growth opportunity for McCormick & Schmick's," said Saed Mohseni, Chief Executive Officer of McCormick & Schmick's. "This Charlotte location adds to our portfolio of restaurants as we continue to expand our presence along the East Coast and around the country."

Mohseni added: "We are equally thrilled to announce our new restaurant in the Southwest suburbs of Portland. McCormick & Schmick's opened its first restaurant in this area more than 30 years ago and has established a strong relationship with the community. We saw this as an opportunity to leverage our brand in the Portland area, offering guests another opportunity for a superb dining experience."

The Charlotte restaurant is located at 4335 Barclay Downs Dr. in the SouthPark Mall. The M & S Grill is a free-standing restaurant located in Tigard's Bridgeport Village, a new lifestyle center, which has about a half million square feet of retail, restaurant, entertainment and office space.

McCormick & Schmick's plans to open a total of seven new restaurants by the end of 2005.

McCormick & Schmick's menu is printed twice daily and typically offers between 85 and 100 made-to-order dishes, including an extensive selection of international, national, regional and local species of seafood. The signature "Fresh List" typically contains 30 to 40 varieties of fresh seafood. McCormick & Schmick's menu also features meat, poultry, pasta and salad dishes, an extensive wine list, hand-crafted cocktails, bottled and tap beer.
