Wingstop Reaches 3,000 Restaurant Milestone Globally

Wingstop has announced the opening of its 3,000th restaurant, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion efforts. The company has rapidly increased its number of locations, adding nearly 800 restaurants over the past two years. This expansion represents a 50% increase in its global presence during this period.

The company has entered six new international markets, including Australia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands. Wingstop now operates in 47 U.S. states and 15 countries. The company has also announced plans to enter Thailand, Italy, and Ireland as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.

A strong pipeline of restaurant commitments has supported Wingstop's growth. The company has reported significant interest from existing franchisees, with more than 70 brand partners expanding their operations in the last quarter alone. This expansion is driven by the company's description of industry-leading cash-on-cash returns.

The company continues to focus on its long-term growth goals, aiming to become a Top 10 Global Restaurant Brand with over 10,000 locations worldwide. 

Wingstop's operations are primarily franchise-based, with 98% of its restaurants owned by brand partners. The company has seen approximately $5 billion in system-wide sales in fiscal 2024 and has reported 21 consecutive years of same-store sales growth.
