Wendy's Hits Major Global Growth Milestone with 500th Restaurant in APMEA Region
The Wendy's Company recently marked a significant step in its global expansion strategy by opening the 500th Wendy's restaurant in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) region. This milestone signifies the brand's strong momentum outside the U.S. and its ability to cater to global markets.

The Wendy's Company, one of the world's most recognizable quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands, has announced the opening of its 500th restaurant in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) region. This milestone achievement underscores the brand's ongoing global expansion and its strong momentum outside the U.S.
The milestone restaurant is located in Nagano, Japan, and is owned and operated by franchisee Wendy's Japan K.K. This new addition showcases the brand's latest Global Next Gen design, a blend of modern, innovative design and advanced technology, aimed at enhancing customer experience.
The 500th restaurant milestone in the APMEA region is a testament to Wendy's strength and versatility as a global brand. Recently, the company celebrated the opening of its 160th restaurant in India, and the first of 200 planned restaurants in Australia opened last month on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. The company is also expanding its presence in Europe, with new restaurants slated to open in Romania, Scotland, and Ireland within the year.
Chris Conway, SVP, Managing Director, APMEA, at The Wendy's Company, expressed excitement at achieving this significant milestone. Conway acknowledged the crucial role of franchise partners in the brand's success and emphasized the company's focus on building a high-performing, differentiated QSR brand in the region.
Osamu Shiseki, Chief Executive Officer at Wendy's Japan K.K, praised the strong partnership with Wendy's that has spanned nearly a decade. Shiseki emphasized the dedication of the team and loyal customers in making this achievement possible and expressed excitement at the prospect of serving more people across Japan.
