Subway Presents 'Fresh Forward 2.0' Global Restaurant Design Alternate
The new design has undergone testing across various regions, receiving largely positive feedback from customers, franchisees, and their teams.
Subway is set to launch its new global restaurant design, "Fresh Forward 2.0" in 2025. This design will enhance the dining experience, provide greater convenience, and boost franchisee profitability.
Since the introduction of the first "Fresh Forward" design in 2017, over 20,000 Subway outlets worldwide have been transformed or newly built to reflect this contemporary design. The new iteration, "Fresh Forward 2.0," will include vibrant decor elements, such as striking wall graphics, localized messages and signage, enhanced lighting, and warmer wood tones. It also aims to accommodate Subway's growing digital sales channels better.
According to Mike Kehoe, Global Chief Development Officer of Subway, the original "Fresh Forward" design was a comprehensive refresh and a strategic necessity. He expressed that "Fresh Forward 2.0" is an exciting progression of the design aiming to equip the business for the future and deliver on brand promises of experience and convenience.
The new design has undergone testing across various regions, receiving largely positive feedback from customers, franchisees, and their teams. Customers reported that the new design considerably increases their likelihood of returning to Subway restaurants.
"Fresh Forward 2.0" also supports Subway's digital transformation journey. Self-service kiosks, order-ready screens, and kitchen display systems are being tested globally, promising extra convenience for customers and more efficient restaurant operations for franchisees and their teams.
The new design will be implemented in Subway outlets worldwide in the upcoming months. Countries that have already adopted the design include the U.S., UK, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia, Panama, and Australia.
