Smoothie King Opens 74 New Stores in 2025, Plans Over 90 Openings in 2026

Smoothie King announced the opening of 74 new stores in 2025, along with the signing of 101 franchise commitments. The company’s development in 2025 spanned 47 distinct designated market areas across the United States. During the fourth quarter of 2025, Smoothie King opened 19 new locations and secured 23 new franchise commitments.

In 2025, Smoothie King expanded into two new states, Utah and Minnesota. The company also increased its presence in non-traditional locations, including a newly signed site at Joint Base Andrews.

For 2026, Smoothie King is forecasting more than 90 new store openings. The company stated this projection is supported by its development pipeline and ongoing investments across its system.

Smoothie King is launching a targeted franchisee incentive program at the start of 2026. This program will be available in select markets: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The company stated that the program will offer financial incentives to franchisees in these markets.

In addition to unit growth, Smoothie King reported the introduction of new menu items, including smoothies and bowls, and an expansion of its food offerings. The company is rolling out ovens across its system to support the broader food expansion. Smoothie King also introduced enhanced technology systems intended to streamline operations.
