Sigri Indian BBQ to Open First Brooklyn Location in Late 2026

Sigri Indian BBQ, part of Craveworthy Brands, has signed a franchise agreement to open a new location in Brooklyn, New York. The opening is scheduled for late 2026. This development marks Sigri’s first entry into the New York City market and is part of the brand’s ongoing expansion in the Northeast region.

The Brooklyn franchise will be operated by Tagur Gautham, who has previous experience in the restaurant industry, including operating a full-service Indian restaurant in Kansas before relocating to New York in 2019.

The announcement follows Sigri’s recent launch of a national franchise program in late 2025. In addition to the Brooklyn agreement, Sigri has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement in the Chicagoland area and another franchise agreement in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Brooklyn, with a population of more than 2.7 million residents according to the U.S. Census, is identified as a key development market for Sigri’s expansion strategy. The company’s growth in the Northeast is intended to build on its existing presence in New Jersey and other markets.

Sigri Indian BBQ specializes in North Indian barbecue, using open-flame cooking methods. The brand’s expansion is supported by Craveworthy Brands’ operational platform, which provides franchisees with support in marketing, operations, training, supply chain, and real estate.

No additional details regarding the exact address, unit size, or further expansion plans in New York City were disclosed in the announcement. The Brooklyn location is expected to open in late 2026, in line with the company’s stated timeline.
