Shipley Do-Nuts to Bring 30 New Stores to New Mexico and South Florida
Shipley Do-Nuts, a major donut and kolache brand in the U.S, has signed a 30-unit development deal to expand into New Mexico and the Miami-Dade area of Florida in the next 12 months. This expansion represents new markets for the brand and will be facilitated by an existing franchisee.

Shipley Do-Nuts, one of the largest donut and kolache brands in the United States, is set to expand its national footprint with a 30-unit development deal, extending the brand's reach into New Mexico and the Miami-Dade area of Florida. This expansion marks the entry of Shipley Do-Nuts into these two new markets, signifying a milestone in the company's growth strategy.
Under the agreement, Vik Agrawal, an experienced multi-unit franchise operator, will establish the new outlets. Ten shops are slated for various counties in New Mexico, including Sandoval, Santa Fe, Bernalillo, Valencia, Torrance, Socorro, Lincoln, De Baca, Guadalupe, and San Miguel. Twenty additional shops will be located in the Miami-Dade area of Florida. The plan is to open one shop in each state in the next 12 months.
Agrawal has nearly two decades of experience operating franchises and currently has about 100 locations across various brands, including Church's Chicken, Supercuts, and Cost Cutters. He also operates a Shipley Do-Nuts location in Laredo, Texas, with agreements to open five more in the Rio Grande Valley area.
Agrawal expressed his commitment to growing the Shipley brand in New Mexico and South Florida, citing his successful operation of the Laredo location as proof of the brand's viable business model.
Founded in 1936 in Houston, Shipley Do-Nuts offers over 60 varieties of fresh, handmade donuts daily. The company's range includes its signature plain glazed donuts, cut in the iconic Shipley hexagon shape, along with filled, iced and cake donuts, bear claws, kolaches, and coffee.
Jonathan Massey, Shipley's Vice President of Franchising, praised Agrawal as an ideal franchisee, citing his multi-unit, multi-brand experience, growth mentality, and operational infrastructure as assets that will facilitate the successful launch and operation of the new units.
Shipley Do-Nuts has over 370 locations in 13 states, with recent entry into North Carolina. The company plans to open its first Virginia shop within the next several months and offers franchise opportunities in 46 states.
