Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken Opens First Locations in Honduras

Big Chicken has opened its first two restaurants in Honduras, with locations in San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba.

Big Chicken has launched its first restaurants in Honduras, marking the brand’s entry into Central America. The new locations are at Plaza Masdeval on Boulevard Mackey in San Pedro Sula and Plaza Corvey in La Ceiba. The openings took place this month.

The development in Honduras is led by Thomas Talarico, CEO and Partner of BLT UK Holdings Limited. Talarico and his team are overseeing the expansion of Big Chicken in Honduras and plan to focus on Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Panama next.

The menu at the Honduras locations features chicken sandwiches such as "The Original" and "The Shaq Attack," crispy chicken tenders, "Dunks," sides, milkshakes, and "Shaq Snacks," which are chicken tenders paired with garlic toast and various toppings. The restaurants also offer a selection of sauces and plan to introduce limited-time menu items inspired by Honduran flavors throughout the year.

Big Chicken currently operates more than 40 locations and has additional sites in development across North America, Central America, and other regions. The brand’s presence includes arenas, airports, cruise ships, and traditional storefronts.

The Latin American fast casual market is projected to surpass $70 billion in 2026, with an annual growth rate of 5.5 percent, according to Research and Markets. The expansion of Big Chicken in Central America is part of the brand’s ongoing growth strategy in the region.
