Sbarro's Global Expansion Continues with 114 New Restaurants in 2024

In 2024, Sbarro LLC, known for its New York pizza-by-the-slice, opened 114 new restaurants worldwide. This expansion included 34 in the United States and 80 internationally, continuing the company's growth trajectory with a total of 313 new restaurants since 2022.

Franchisees have been integral to Sbarro's success, with 16 domestic and 14 international franchisees opening new outlets. Notably, the company expanded into Scotland, Belize, and Chile for the first time. Currently, 52% of Sbarro's restaurants are in international locations, up from 48% the previous year.

In addition to geographic expansion, Sbarro has also diversified its store formats. Although 60% of its outlets remain in malls, the company has increased its presence in convenience stores, which now constitute 15% of its global store count. This change indicates a growing demand for Sbarro's products in non-traditional restaurant settings.

Digital sales have also significantly contributed to Sbarro's growth, with some restaurants reporting that over 25% of their total sales come from digital ordering channels.

In 2024, Sbarro focused on menu innovation, introducing new dishes like the Italian Beef Stromboli and regional favorites like Pepperoni and Pineapple Pizza and the Pepperoni and Jalapeno Pizza and Stromboli.

Sbarro also welcomed two key leaders to its team, Mario Bojorquez as President, North America, and CJ Wolford Ramirez as Chief Marketing Officer.
