QDOBA Growth Accelerates: 33+ New Restaurants Planned
QDOBA, a leading fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand in America, is experiencing significant franchise growth with over 500 development commitments. The expansion includes more than 33 planned new restaurants across key U.S. markets and increased non-traditional development in airports, universities, and military bases.

QDOBA has seen substantial growth in its franchise network, fueled by traditional and non-traditional expansion models. More than 33 new locations are planned across key markets, with several franchise groups leading the development efforts. These include PFGS, LLC in the Northeast, Empire Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, Roaring Forks, LLC in the Midwest, Holy Guacamole in North Dakota, and Dhote & Turner, LLC in the Pacific Northwest.
Chief Development Officer at QDOBA, Jeremy Vitaro, attributes this growth to strong franchise partnerships and a commitment to quality. He notes that the brand's momentum continues to accelerate with the addition of new franchisees who bring industry expertise and a shared passion for bold flavors.
Non-traditional growth is also a significant factor in QDOBA's expansion strategy, with new locations opening in airports, universities, and military bases. Recent examples include a new QDOBA location in Terminal A at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport in New York, opened by The Gideon Toal Management Group. This spring, QDOBA will open at Colorado State University-Pueblo in partnership with Aladdin Campus Dining, marking the first collaboration between the two companies. Furthermore, TIG, one of the largest franchisee groups in the QDOBA system, opened a second restaurant on the Rutgers University campus in January.
As franchise growth increases, so does brand momentum. QDOBA achieved a 6.1% comparable (comp) sales growth in fiscal year 2023, followed by 7.7% comp sales growth in fiscal year 2024. According to Black Box Intelligence, the brand outpaced the fast-casual restaurant category in both years.
Looking ahead, QDOBA continues to seek experienced multi-unit franchisees to develop key markets, including Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, and Tampa. The brand is also expanding in non-traditional venues such as airports, universities, military bases, and casinos.
