Popeyes to Expand with 300 New Restaurants in Mexico Over Next Decade

Popeyes has entered into development agreements with regional franchisees to significantly expand its presence in Mexico. The agreements outline the opening of more than 300 new locations across the Northwest, West, Central, and Southeast regions of the country over the next decade.

Several franchise groups will drive the expansion. Star Louisiana will focus on the West region, particularly in Jalisco. Border Crunch will lead the efforts in the Northwest region. Grupo Euro is set to develop locations in the Central region, while Grupo Berny will oversee the growth in the Southeast region.

This initiative is part of Popeyes' broader strategy to increase its footprint in Latin America. The expansion is expected to create thousands of jobs locally and introduce the brand's menu, including its well-known chicken sandwich, to new customers in Mexico.

Popeyes' expansion in Mexico follows recent international growth, with new openings in Costa Rica, Italy, and the Balkans. The brand currently operates in over 45 countries worldwide.
