PizzaExpress Plans U.S. Debut with Florida Franchise in 2025

PizzaExpress, a well-known pizza chain from the UK, has announced its expansion into the U.S. market. The first U.S. location is set to open in Florida in 2025. This initiative will mark the brand's debut in the U.S., expanding its international presence, which already includes nearly 360 restaurants in the UK and Ireland and 110 locations across 12 markets globally.

PizzaExpress is recognized for its unique dining experience, which includes live music, open kitchens, and a distinctive menu featuring its iconic Dough Balls and various pizza options. Its menu includes lighter pizza alternatives, a children's menu, and a popular pepperoni pizza named "The American."

Founded in the 1960s by entrepreneur Peter Boizot, PizzaExpress began as a single restaurant in Soho, London. His vision was to serve high-quality pizza in a relaxed, inclusive environment. The brand will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025 and aims to reach 1,000 restaurants globally by 2030.

PizzaExpress is collaborating with Purple Square, a seasoned franchising group that operates over 245 franchise locations across 15 states for its U.S. expansion. PizzaExpress believes that Purple Square's two decades of U.S. market expertise make it an ideal partner to bring the brand's legacy to the U.S.

PizzaExpress is also known for its dedication to music. It operates six live venues, including three in London, where artists such as Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse, and Norah Jones have performed. The Florida locations are expected to include full-service live and "light" music venues.
