OpenTable has identified key dining trends that are anticipated to continue into 2025. According to OpenTable's recent consumer research, 54% of respondents plan to dine out more next year than they did this year, with Gen Z and Millennials leading the trend.

Three significant patterns emerged in the dining sector in 2024 and are expected to continue into 2025. Firstly, mid-week dining has gained popularity, with Wednesdays seeing an 11% increase in dining year-over-year. Secondly, while solo dining has increased by 10% year-over-year, group dining is also popular. Lastly, diners seek unique dining experiences, such as multi-course tasting menus and cooking classes.

OpenTable has also released its list of the Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2024. The list is based on over 14 million diner reviews, ratings, reservation demand, and other factors. Chicago has the largest share of restaurants on the list, followed by Austin.

Debby Soo, CEO of OpenTable, commented on the trends and said that the increasing interest in dining out is good news for restaurants everywhere. Kevin Boehm, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Boka Restaurant Group and OpenTable Advisory Board Member, also noted the increase in large parties dining at their restaurants.
