In a move set to boost its presence in Southern California, Cousins Maine Lobster (CML) has partnered with experienced entrepreneur Karan Singh. Singh is scheduled to commence operations in the Los Angeles territory from May 1, with plans to launch a new food truck in Ventura by August. Further expansion throughout the region is planned in the forthcoming year.

Singh has over a decade of experience in the restaurant industry and owns multiple Subway franchises. He became interested in Cousins Maine Lobster after encountering one of their food trucks and recognizing the brand from its appearance on Shark Tank. Recognizing a gap in the region’s fast-casual seafood options, Singh was captivated by the brand's menu and strong reputation.

Cousin's Maine Lobster is among the fastest-growing seafood brands in the U.S., with plans to open 30 new units in the current year and aims to become a 100-unit brand by the end of 2025. The brand recently began operations in Grand Rapids and Oklahoma City and is slated to debut in West Virginia this month. In 2024, the brand signed over 30 development agreements with franchisees and sought to expand its company-led presence in Kansas City and Louisville.

Cousins Maine Lobster is known for partnering with local entrepreneurs to bring premium Maine lobster rolls to various neighborhoods through their food trucks, physical locations, and a gourmet online shop that delivers live Maine lobsters directly to customers' homes.
