The World Food Championships returns to Indianapolis in 2025, promising a bigger, better, and more consumer-friendly event featuring over 300 teams, 1,200 chefs from more than 35 states, and 30 countries competing in various cooking categories.

Indianapolis Welcomes Back World Food Championships

The World Food Championships (WFC) has announced its return to Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in October 2025. This marks the 13th annual tournament, which will once again take place at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.

The 2024 championship saw participation from over 300 teams and 1,200 chefs from over 35 states and 30 unique countries. Competitors strived for championship status and a share of the $450,000 prize money across various everyday cooking categories that included: Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Dessert, Live Fire, Noodle, Rice, Sandwich, Seafood, Soup, and Vegetarian.

Since its inception in 2012, WFC has gained a significant worldwide following, offering unforgettable culinary experiences at its events and on various live and made-for-TV shows. Furthermore, the WFC's impact on the food industry is undeniable, having facilitated the creation of more than 10,000 new dishes and supporting local communities through partnerships with non-profits, charities, and food banks across the United States.

In a statement, Mike Eaton, World Food Championships CEO, expressed his excitement about returning to Indianapolis after the success of their 2024 event. He promised additional programming elements to make the 2025 event more consumer-friendly, entertaining, and delicious for both competitors and fans.

Cindy Hoye, Executive Director of the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in partnering with WFC and welcoming the unique event back to Indiana. She emphasized that the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion is the ideal facility to invite both Hoosiers and a global audience to experience culinary excellence.

In the lead-up to the event, WFC will be making additional announcements about modifications to its tournament model and unique features aimed at enhancing the consumer experience and competition. Global qualification events have already commenced.
