IKEA to Reduce Restaurant Prices in Response to Economic Pressures
IKEA will implement a reduction in restaurant meal prices by 50% from Monday to Friday in several markets, with children eating for free, as part of a strategy to support customers amid economic challenges.
Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has announced a significant reduction in food prices at its restaurants in various markets worldwide. The initiative, which aims to alleviate cost-of-living pressures for customers, will see the price of meals halved from Monday through Friday. Additionally, children will be able to eat for free during these days.
The price reduction will be implemented in several countries, including Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. The timing of the price changes will vary by market, and specific details can be obtained from the IKEA press office in each region.
In France, for example, the cost of a family lunch, comprising two adult meals with meatballs and two children's meals, will decrease from EUR 19.9 to EUR 6.96. Furthermore, all restaurant guests will receive a EUR 5 voucher for use in-store.
This initiative is part of Ingka Group's broader strategy to enhance the in-store experience and provide affordable dining options. The company is also introducing new dishes inspired by Asian flavors, expanding its range of affordable and healthy food options. This includes the upcoming launch of a falafel dish, which will be available in IKEA restaurants and later in Swedish Food Markets.
The move to reduce food prices aligns with IKEA's ongoing efforts to deliver value to customers during economically challenging times. The company is focused on helping customers maximize their finances while offering value through both its food and home furnishing products.
