Freddy’s Signs 22 Multi-Unit Franchise Agreements for 118 New Restaurants in 2025
Freddy’s signed 22 multi-unit franchise agreements in 2025 to develop 118 new restaurants, opened 51 new locations, and plans seven additional openings in early 2026.
Freddy’s reported record franchise growth in 2025, signing 22 multi-unit development agreements to add 118 new restaurants across the United States and Canada. The company opened 51 new restaurants during the year and has seven more scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026.
The development activity in 2025 included several notable agreements. Early in the year, Freddy’s signed six multi-unit franchise deals representing 44 new restaurants. Among these, a group operating Freddy’s locations in Texas and Oklahoma agreed to develop 15 new restaurants in Ohio and acquired 19 existing locations in the state. Another multi-brand franchise group signed a 12-unit development deal for Nashville and the surrounding area and acquired three existing Nashville locations. A separate multi-unit group signed a 10-unit agreement to expand Freddy’s presence in North Carolina’s coastal counties.
In the second quarter, Freddy’s surpassed 100 new locations in development for the first half of the year. The company continued to expand through the summer, including a 14-unit agreement with an existing ownership group to grow in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In July, Freddy’s closed nine franchise deals representing 49 additional restaurants in development.
Freddy’s ended 2025 with 580 locations in operation. The company’s development pipeline includes seven restaurants scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026.
Freddy’s moved up to No. 79 on the 2025 Franchise Times Top 400 list, an annual ranking based on global systemwide sales of U.S.-based franchise systems.
In 2025, Freddy’s Training & Innovation Center in Wichita, Kansas, marked one year of operation. During that period, the center trained 160 managers and franchise leaders and tested new menu items and technology initiatives.
