Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is set to open three new locations in Winnipeg, Canada, as part of its international expansion strategy. This development follows a Master Franchise and Development Agreement signed with Gregg Most and Jim Werschler of North 49 Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in November 2022. The brand will collaborate with the development group Steakburger North to establish its presence in Winnipeg.
Local franchisee John Hall and operating partner Turner Ethans of Steakburger North signed the deal. Over the next three years, the pair will open new locations across Winnipeg, with the first restaurant set to open its doors in 2025.
Hall, a veteran franchisee with 27 years of experience in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, and Ethans, an experienced manager and sales professional, will lead Freddy's launch in Winnipeg. They aim to introduce the brand while maintaining a local and authentic feel, prioritizing excellent service.
This move marks Freddy's third development agreement for Canada, highlighting its commitment to expanding its North American footprint. The brand operates over 530 restaurants across 36 U.S. states and has over 130 locations planned for 2025 and 2026.
