Fast Food Restaurant Chain Chicken Salad Chick Opens First Store in Kansas City

Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual restaurant chain, is set to open its first outlet in Lee's Summit, Missouri on December 10. The new location, at 1020 NW Pryor Rd, will give the first 100 customers in line free chicken salad for a year.

Throughout the grand opening week, customers can enjoy a range of specials and giveaways. These include, among others, free Chicken Salad Chick 40oz Tumblers, large coolers, Tervis tumblers, and free scoop or sandwich on a subsequent visit. Each offer is planned for specific days and is available to the first 50 customers making certain purchases.

The Lee's Summit restaurant is owned and operated by Kendra and Alan Greenwood, who were introduced to Chicken Salad Chick by their son. Impressed by the brand's Southern style, the Greenwoods invested in a franchise. They bring over 20 years of management and leadership experience to their new venture. Alan Greenwood is a U.S. Army veteran who later worked in the healthcare industry, while Kendra Greenwood has left her previous role to focus on Chicken Salad Chick. The Greenwoods plan to open more outlets in Liberty/North Kansas City and Blue Springs, Missouri.

Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick, expressed excitement at the brand's expansion into the Kansas City market and commended the Greenwoods for their enthusiasm and passion for it.

Chicken Salad Chick offers a variety of chicken salad flavors, fresh side salads, gourmet soups, signature sandwiches, and desserts. The Lee's Summit restaurant will provide in-restaurant and outdoor patio dining, take-out, third-party delivery, and catering options.

The company also engages in charitable activities. Through the CSC Foundation, it raises money for local food banks and CURE Childhood Cancer. The Lee's Summit team will support Hillcrest Transitional Housing, a non-profit that assists individuals and families affected by homelessness, as part of its pre-opening events.

Chicken Salad Chick of Lee's Summit will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
