Domino's Pizza Inc. has partnered with DoorDash, a leading local commerce platform in North America. This partnership will enable Domino's to increase its customer base through the DoorDash Marketplace while continuing to maintain its delivery service by Domino's drivers.
A pilot for this initiative is currently in progress at select locations. The nationwide U.S. launch is scheduled for May 2025, with plans to expand the service to Canada later the same year.
According to Domino's chief operating officer and president, Joe Jordan, the partnership with DoorDash will allow Domino's to tap into a new segment of customers, particularly in suburban and rural markets. This move aligns with the pizza giant's expansion strategy, which includes opening new stores nationwide.
DoorDash's President and Chief Operating Officer, Prabir Adarkar, also expressed excitement at the partnership. He highlighted the potential for incremental sales and the opportunity for customers to have a new choice in the rapidly growing pizza category.
As part of the collaboration, DoorDash users can order from their local Domino's store through the DoorDash app, with real-time GPS tracking facilitated by Domino's drivers. Additionally, Domino's orders will be included in DashPass, DoorDash's subscription program, which offers unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on orders over $12. However, it's important to note that Domino's Rewards, the company's loyalty program, will only be available on Domino's e-commerce platforms.
