Chipotle Appoints Jason Kidd As Chief Operating Officer
Chipotle Mexican Grill has appointed Jason Kidd as its new Chief Operating Officer, and long-standing executive Jack Hartung will transition to a senior advisory role.

Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced the appointment of Jason Kidd as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective May 19th. Kidd will manage operations across the company's nearly 3,800 restaurants. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Scott Boatwright from the company's headquarters in Newport Beach.
Kidd comes to Chipotle with a wealth of experience in operations and retail, including roles at Taco Bell, Hearing Lab Technology, LLC, 99 Cents Only Stores, and Sam's Club. At Taco Bell, Kidd served as the global chief operating officer, and at 99 Cents Only Stores, he was the president and chief operating officer.
Additionally, Chipotle's President and Chief Strategy Officer Jack Hartung will step down from his current role on June 1. Hartung, a company veteran with nearly 25 years of service, will remain with Chipotle as a senior advisor until early March 2026. Hartung's various roles within the company have included chief financial and administrative officer.
With these changes, Curt Garner, the company's chief customer and technology officer, will expand his responsibilities to oversee the supply chain as the president, chief strategy, and technology officer. Chris Brandt, the chief brand officer, will lead a cross-functional team to manage all menu and ingredient processes as president, chief brand officer.
These changes mark a significant reshuffling of Chipotle's executive team and are part of its strategic plan to continue its growth and expansion.
