Chicken Salad Chick has signed six new franchise agreements to expand its presence in Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
Chicken Salad Chick has announced the signing of six franchise agreements to expand its operations in the Midwest. The agreements will introduce the fast-casual restaurant concept to Michigan and Minnesota for the first time, while further establishing its presence in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
The expansion involves several franchise owners who will manage the new locations. In Lafayette, Indiana, Caitlin and Michael Becker will oversee operations. The couple brings experience from their current business, McCord Candies, to the new venture. In Chicago, Illinois, Jesse Koontz and Toni Siprut, who have backgrounds in the franchise industry, will manage the new location.
In Kansas City, Kansas, Cindy Sulzman, Jo Anne Williams, and Kirk Williams will operate the new franchise. The team combines marketing, consulting, and financial expertise. Troy Morrison, who already manages 26 Chicken Salad Chick locations, will expand his operations in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Wichita, Kansas.
The expansion into Michigan will be managed by Sarah and Keith McKae, with their first location planned for Northville, Novi, and Canton. In Lakeville, Minnesota, Mandy and Mike Boogerd will open the state's first Chicken Salad Chick restaurant.
This expansion comes as the foodservice industry anticipates reaching $1.5 trillion in sales by 2025. Chicken Salad Chick aims to capitalize on this growth by entering high-potential markets. The company has identified key states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and West Virginia, as areas for future development.
In 2024, Chicken Salad Chick reported over $394.2 million in systemwide sales, marking a 38% increase over 2021. The company has seen a 13% year-over-year increase in unit count and plans to continue this growth trajectory.
