Carl's Jr. Awards $100,000 in Scholarships to Ten Students

Carl's Jr. has awarded ten scholarships worth $10,000 each to students across the U.S. for the 2025 academic year.

Carl's Jr. announced the recipients of the Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founder's Scholarship, distributing a total of $100,000 among ten students. This scholarship program, established in 1998, supports students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement, and who are in financial need as they pursue higher education.

The 2025 scholarship recipients come from various states including California, Oregon, Texas, and Nevada. Among the awardees is a team member from a Carl's Jr. restaurant, highlighting the company's commitment to supporting its workforce in their educational pursuits.

Each student selected for this scholarship will receive $10,000 to aid in covering educational expenses for the upcoming academic year. The students awarded are:

  • Celerina Lee - Sunny Hills High School, CA
  • Daniel Cuz - PSJA Memorial High School, TX
  • Eduardo Murillo Reyes, SOAR High School, CA – Carl's Jr. Team Member
  • Ivan Sun - Ed W. Clark High School, NV
  • Mercedes Rodriguez - La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, OR
  • Sangeet Satpathy - Henry M. Gunn High School, CA
  • Santiago Preciado Cruz - Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience, CA
  • Sophie Garcia – San Pedro Senior High School, CA

The scholarship program is open to first-time college freshmen residing in states where Carl's Jr. operates. This initiative is part of Carl's Jr.'s broader efforts to support the communities where its restaurants are located, by aiding young individuals in achieving their educational goals.

Since the inception of this scholarship program, Carl's Jr. has awarded over $1.5 million to more than 1,000 students, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders and professionals. The scholarships are intended to help alleviate the financial burdens of higher education, enabling students to focus more on their studies and less on the economic challenges of pursuing a degree.
