Captain D's Expands Florida Presence with Ocala Restaurant
Captain D's has opened its first location in Ocala, Florida, marking its continued expansion in the state.
Captain D's has launched its first restaurant in Ocala, Florida, on September 2. The new establishment is located at 2510 SW 27th Avenue, Unit 101, within a newly constructed shopping center near the intersection of College Road and I-75. This location is part of a strategic expansion in Florida, where the demand for fast-casual seafood is reportedly strong.
The Ocala restaurant is a 2,100-square-foot facility featuring seating for approximately 30 guests and includes a drive-thru. The opening of this location is expected to create between 60 and 70 jobs in the area. The restaurant will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers can place call-ahead orders by contacting the restaurant directly.
Franchisees Toks Achebe and Wanda Davis co-own the Ocala location. They also operate a Captain D's in Palatka, Florida, and have plans to open another location in Gainesville later this year. The choice of Ocala for this new restaurant was influenced by the city's growth and its active retiree population.
To commemorate the opening, Captain D's partnered with local radio station 93.7 K-Country for a live broadcast event on the day of the launch. The event included music, on-air giveaways, and exclusive promotions.
Captain D's currently operates over 530 restaurants across 23 states in the United States. The company is actively seeking additional single- and multi-unit operators to support its expansion efforts.
