A&W Restaurants has announced the appointment of Betsy Schmandt as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Schmandt, who previously served as the company's Chief Operating Officer and President, takes over the reins from Kevin Bazner, who will continue his association with the brand as Chairman.

Betsy Schmandt expressed her honor and enthusiasm in leading the iconic brand and pledged to enhance the A&W experience while building on the value proposition that has kept the brand afloat for 105 years. In her previous roles as COO and President of A&W, Schmandt was instrumental in overseeing the business's day-to-day operations, aligning them with the company's long-term strategic goals. She brought to A&W her extensive leadership experience, including her tenure as the President of Franchising for Mrs. Fields and TCBY, where she demonstrated her ability to manage high-performing teams, develop brand-building strategies, and maintain strong partnerships.

Kevin Bazner, the former CEO and current Chairman of A&W, acknowledged Schmandt's significant contributions to the brand. He expressed his confidence in her leadership and passion for the brand.
