A&W Restaurants Introduces New Restaurant Prototype
A&W Restaurants' new prototype

A&W Restaurants has launched a restaurant prototype combining elements from its classic diner restaurants and original roadside root beer stands with contemporary architecture. The updated design will serve as the foundation for future development in new and existing U.S. markets.

The prototype ranges from 2,200 to 2,800 square feet and seats 40 to 70 guests. Its flexible footprint can be adapted for different market sizes and development locations.

A&W describes the concept as a modern heritage design that incorporates references to its earlier restaurant formats within a contemporary building design. The prototype is part of the company’s ongoing brand evolution.

The concept also incorporates A&W’s beverage program, including its signature root beer made fresh daily, and its Hometown Hospitality model. A&W handcrafts beverages in every restaurant and has expanded beverage innovation around its root beer.

A&W is seeking franchise partners for future restaurant development. Qualified candidates must have at least $300,000 in liquid assets and a total net worth of at least $700,000. Franchisees receive support from industry professionals.
