Do you know a restaurateur who provides outstanding service for the community he or she does business in? Or what about an operator who embodies the meaning of diversity and has overcome obstacles to achieve the American Dream?
If you do, it’s time to nominate them for our 2018 Restaurant Neighbor and Faces of Diversity Awards. Nominations for both awards programs are officially open and we’re looking to you to help us find those who are most deserving of winning the awards. The deadline for all nominations is Nov. 17.
The Restaurant Neighbor Awards, created 18 years ago by our Educational Foundation, in partnership with American Express, honors restaurants for their philanthropic efforts and dedication to their communities. Each year, three national winners receive $10,000 each to support their charitable efforts.
The Faces of Diversity Awards, created 10 years ago by the NRAEF, in partnership with PepsiCo Foodservice, promotes the importance of diversity and inclusion in the restaurant industry. The program also raises awareness about the role restaurants play in providing opportunity to individuals striving to achieve professional success. Every year, three winners each receive $2,500 scholarships. They then present the scholarships to students who are pursuing careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
In addition, we’re going to present the 2018 Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award, sponsored by Ecolab. The award recognizes an individual who has shown extraordinary achievement and leadership in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
All of the winners will receive their awards at a gala dinner during our Public Affairs Conference in April 2018 in Washington, D.C.
