Looking for the latest sustainability information, tips and best practices? We’ll have them all under one roof at our second Annual Sustainability Executive Study Group meetingnext month.

We’ll host the meeting Sept. 11 to 12 in Atlanta, at the Marriott Marquis hotel. Our sustainability director, Laura Abshire, and manager Jeff Clark will kick things off with a reception on the first night and moderate educations sessions the following day.

Following are some program highlights:

  • Supply Chain Panel
    Executives from The Cheesecake Factory, Chick-fil-A and Rubicon Resources will explain how they work with suppliers to control costs while reaping the benefits of meeting their sustainability commitments. Attendees also will learn to spot and forecast upcoming trends and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Making the Business Case for Sustainability
    Maury Wolfe, director of corporate responsibility/sustainability at the Intercontinental Hotels Group, will talk about the passion and effectiveness behind her company’s sustainability initiatives across 12 brands in 100 countries and 5,000 locations.
  • Increasing Employee Engagement to Improve Eco-efforts
    Sustainability experts Pete Pearson from the World Wildlife Fund and Angie Renner of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts will share how they generate passion and positivity about environmentalism among their employees.

Panelists also will talk about animal welfare practices, the future of restaurant sustainability, legislative and regulatory issues at all levels of government, plus food waste and packaging issues affecting your business.

Registration is open to all operators and industry employees. The cost for members is $299 and $499 for nonmembers. Deadline for the hotel’s reduced-rates is Aug. 21, so register today!
