Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLKI) oday announced the promotion of Andrew G. Skehan to President, International, with oversight of the company’s overseas operations. Currently, Popeyes presence abroad includes 26 foreign countries and three US territories. The latest earnings report cited 2014 as the eighth consecutive year of positive same store sales for international, underscoring the opportunity international represents for the brand.
“Andrew has been instrumental in executing against our strategic Roadmap,” said Cheryl A. Bachelder, CEO of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. “As President, International, he will spearhead our entry into new high-growth markets. In this role, Andrew will continue our focus on developing quality restaurants globally.”
Mr. Skehan has served as Chief Operating Officer, International since 2011, where he has invested in the brand alongside Popeyes franchisees, and prepared the organization for future growth.
“We have taken a long-term approach that positions us for accelerated and sustained growth,” said Mr. Skehan. “Our focus on enhancing our organizational capabilities, streamlining operations and investing in brand development, has proven to be a winning strategy. Popeyes achieved a new milestone in international markets in 2014. The company now has more than 500 international restaurants, and opened 80 new locations in 2014.
