"Cornell University's distinguished faculty have a unique point of view because of their years of research in HR and legal challenges affecting the industry," said Ed Chase, vice president of LRP Publications, organizers of the HR in Hospitality Conference. "With seasoned insight gained through years of scholarship, our attendees will surely benefit from the guidance provided by these top HR leaders."

Two highly anticipated sessions will feature Sherwyn:

- "NLRB: A Closer Look at the Supreme Court's Noel Canning Decision"
- "50 Legal Tips in 50 Minutes"

The "Noel Canning Decision" session, which Sherwyn will present alongside Paul Ades (Hilton Worldwide Inc.), David Rothfeld (Kane Kessler, P.C.), and Steven M. Swirsky (Epstein Becker Green), will summarize the court's reasoning behind the decision. Taking it a step further, the panel will identify important decisions made while the board's work was unconstitutional and evaluate the impact on labor relations plus the future of the board.

"50 Legal Tips in 50 Minutes" will also include speakers Ilene Berman (Taylor English Duma), Gregg Gilman (Davis & Gilbert LLP), Paul E. Wagner (Stokes Roberts & Wagner), and Celeste Yeager (Littler Mendelson, P.C.).

Moderating the March 16 session "Ensuring Competitiveness: Implications of Compensation and Benefits Trends," Sturman will explore the usefulness of available data and how that data can be used to enhance employee motivation and performance. Furthermore, alongside Alice Carroll (Mercer) and Randall Pullen (WageWatch, Inc.), Sturman will discuss pay level and trends related to jobs at or near the minimum wage, plus trends in pay mix and total compensation for the exempt and non-exempt jobs that constitute the majority of employment in the hospitality industry.

An attendee favorite, "HR Tips and Trends," is a fast-paced session in which Tracey and respected industry leaders Debbie Brown (Four Season Hotels & Resorts), Carolyn Clark (Fairmont Hotels and Resorts), Robert Mellwig (Destination Hotels and Resorts/Lowe Enterprises), and Alan Momeyer (Loews Corporation) share best practices and expert guidance on key HR strategies.

Tracey will also present "Developing Employee Surveys to Enhance HR Decision-making." Exploring appropriate use of employee surveys, how to design them, and methods for reporting the data that is captured, Tracey and fellow presenter Mark Blankenship (Jack in the Box) will help organizations better engage employees.
