Old Chicago Celebrates Cinco De Mayo with Eight Mexican-Style Beers

Old Chicago’s Cinco de Mayo Mini Tour kicks off with tapping parties for Dos Equis Special Lager on tap

Old Chicago Old Chicago – a division of CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries, Inc. and the made-from-scratch American fare and beer authority known for its World Beer Tour ™ and 110 unique, cold beers – is launching its annual Cinco de Mayo Mini Beer Tour on Wednesday, April 13, to help beer lovers celebrate Mexican pride and the Mexican army’s victory against the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.  The Cinco de Mayo Mini Tour – a favorite among Old Chicago’s more than 1 million World Beer Tour members – will run through Cinco de Mayo, Thursday, May 5, and feature eight Mexican-style beers.
Old Chicago’s Cinco de Mayo Mini Tour celebrations begin on Wednesday, April 13, at 6 p.m. with tapping parties for the Dos Equis Special Lager on tap at each of the restaurant chain’s 98 locations nationwide.  Each Old Chicago location will feature the Dos Equis Special Lager as part of the Tour, as well as seven other Mexican-style beers, including Corona Extra Lager, Tecate Lager, Pacifico Clara Lager, Dos Equis Amber Lager, Modelo Especial Pilsner, Negra Modelo Dark Lager and a restaurant beer choice that will vary by location.
“Our loyal guests and World Beer Tour members come to Old Chicago to try different types of beer and celebrate a variety of holidays and events throughout the year by participating in our Mini Tours and attending kick-off tapping parties, and this latest Tour is no exception,” said Mark Newman, director of beverage for Old Chicago.  “The Cinco de Mayo Mini Tour is always a favorite among Old Chicago customers because it allows them to try a range of Mexican beers, and we’re excited for our guests across the country to celebrate with us again this year.”  
Old Chicago’s 1.3 million World Beer Tour members who complete the Cinco de Mayo Mini Tour by sampling all eight beers will receive the highly coveted Mini Tour T-shirt with a specially designed Cinco de Mayo graphic on the front.  Anyone 21 and older can sign up to become a World Beer Tour member at Old Chicago for free and register online for members-only benefits.  Old Chicago encourages guests to drink responsibly.
