Noah's New York Bagels Celebrates 17 Years of Success
Local Favorite Debuts Commemorative Anniversary Blend
In honor of its 17th anniversary, Noah's Bagels isn't breaking out the champagne but it's offering its guests a great, new caffeinated beverage. Noah's Bagels, a New World Restaurant Group, Inc. brand , is introducing a special anniversary coffee blend for the month of August. Available only for a limited time, the blend was created to honor the opening of the first Noah's Bagels store in 1989.
Created by Noah's Bagels' general managers during the company's annual conference, the Anniversary Blend is known for its smooth, artisan-roasted flavor that captures the Noah's heritage. Seventy-three general managers participated in a build-a-blend competition hosted by Coffee Bean International (CBI). Each blend was so impressive that CBI decided to combine all three to create the new Anniversary Blend. The result is a rich, dark coffee that perfectly complements the traditional baked goods still crafted at Noah's today.
"Nothing speaks more about Noah's than how we created our new Anniversary Blend," said Brad West, senior vice president of operations. It was truly a collaborative effort. "Our general managers know the Noah's brand and what our guests like, so it's no surprise that together they created this extraordinary coffee."
To aid in the anniversary celebration, all 73 Noah's restaurants offer a 12-oz. cup of the Anniversary Blend or any other 12-oz. coffee for 17 cents all day long on Aug. 17.
Noah's was founded when Noah Alper (a native of New York) and his family relocated to San Francisco from Brooklyn, NY, and noticed something was missing -- bagels. With the encouragement of his brother, Noah decided to bring the taste and quality of New York bagels to the Bay area. Thus Noah's New York Bagels was born in August 1989, in Emeryville, Calif. The first store was located on College Avenue in Berkeley and is still open today. The new bagel shop was quite the rave in California and the company's reputation and sales grew as a result.
"Noah's Bagels provides a slice of the old neighborhood that moved from the East Coast to the West," said West. "We've brought our heritage, the flavors and the feel of our roots to all our restaurants, and we're so pleased to celebrate this milestone with our guests."
