Feb 11, 2006 - 10:38
CBRL Group Inc., operator of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant and gift shop chain, on Tuesday said a "significant shareholder" has suggested the company review business alternatives.

CBRL said it is already pondering "additional perspectives for bringing long-term value to our shareholders" and has begun interviewing firms to serve as a financial adviser. The company added that its strategic review includes "potential capital structure initiatives" to boost shareholder value.

Such language typically means a company may be considering an acquisition or a possible sale. CBRL did not name the "significant shareholder."
