Brinker International Second-Quarter Profit Rises on Chili's, Maggiano's Same-Store Sales
Brinker International Inc. on Tuesday said fiscal second-quarter profit rose modestly on higher sales at all four of its casual dining chains, with the biggest boost from Chili's and Maggiano's.
Net income edged higher to $42.9 million, or 49 cents per share, from $41.4 million, or 44 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter. Excluding restructuring charges, earnings from continuing operations were 46 cents per share. The latest quarter's earnings per share benefited from a decrease in shares outstanding.
Revenue rose 11 percent to $1.01 billion from $909.7 million in the same quarter a year ago.
