Soup Kitchen International, Inc., the company that operates and franchises The Original SoupMan, today announced the opening of six new locations throughout Manhattan. The Original SoupMan features the Zagat-rated soups of legendary soup man, who inspired the "Soup Episode" on Seinfeld. The grand openings are part of the company's "SoupStock World Tour 2006", and they anticipate opening up to 100 new locations in North America throughout the year.

Mr. Yeganeh, founder of the "Soup Kitchen International", located at Eighth Avenue and 55th Street in New York City, has been creating his magic for a loyal following of devotees for over a quarter century. People from all over the world have been known to wait for hours in all kinds of weather for a taste of his much-heralded jambalaya, crab bisque, or mulligatawny. The idea to open many soup shops came from Mr. Yeganeh's desire to feed the world. Since the grand opening of the flagship Original SoupMan location on Manhattan's 42 Street in November 2005, the company has been flooded with franchise inquiries.

The Original SoupMan will celebrate their next grand opening on Wednesday, January 18, at 11:00 a.m. at 97 Trinity Place (corner of Thames St.) in the heart of the New York City's financial district. The first 100 soup fans in line will receive a free Original SoupMan T-Shirt. The company will also present a $10,000.00 donation on behalf of Mr. Yeganeh's charitable organization, Soup For Life, to City Harvest, New York City's largest hunger relief group. Soup For Life will make donations to City Harvest and other local hunger charities at each of the upcoming grand opening celebrations.

Additional upcoming New York City grand openings include Wednesday, January 25 at 672 Lexington Ave at 55 St., Thursday, January 26 at 1369 Third Ave at 78 St., Tuesday, January 31 at 708 Third Ave. at 45 St., as well as upcoming openings at 131 Lenox Ave. at 131 St. and Rockefeller Center at 48 St.

"Al Yeganeh has been a New York City institution for so many years. The excitement generated at all the grand openings on our SoupStock World Tour goes to prove what a powerful brand Al and his legendary soups have really become," said John Bello, Chairman and CEO of Soup Kitchen International, Inc. Mr. Bello founded the company that makes the SoBe line of nutritional beverages, South Beach Beverage Co., which he sold to PepsiCo Inc. for $370 million in 2001.
