Lee, Bain to pursue Dunkin'

Buyout companies will make their pitch to chain's new owner

Boston's two largest private buyout firms and a third one in Washington, D.C., are planning to make a bid to purchase the Dunkin' Donuts brands from its new owner, according to three people involved in the matter.

Pernod came into possession of the chains after it acquired Dunkin' parent Allied Domecq for about $13.3 billion. Pernod officially takes ownership today of Allied Domecq.
