Chuck E. Cheese's Celebrates Opening of 500th Location
CEC Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:CEC) today announced the opening of their newest Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Glendale, Ariz.
The new family entertainment center located at 6773 West Bell Road occupies 12,060 square feet, has seating for 440 and will employ a staff of 60 to 70 full and part-time employees.
"We are very excited to bring Chuck E. Cheese's to families in the Glendale area," stated Bill Melvin, President of Melvin Entertainment, the largest franchisee in the Chuck E. Cheese's franchise system who also operates eight other locations primarily in Arizona. The new Glendale location will be the seventh Phoenix-area store bringing the total number of Chuck E. Cheese's in the state to nine.
The Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza concept has been in operation since May of 1977 when the first restaurant opened in San Jose, Calif.
