McDonald's to open 90 outlets in three years in India
Global fast-food giant McDonald's plans to invest Rs 300 crore to open 90 outlets in India in the next three years. It will launch 25 outlets in various parts of India in this year
McDonald's had entered the Indian market in October 1996 and has a network of 95 outlets at present.
The company plans to open three more outlets in Gujarat in the current year and 10 new outlets over the next three years.
In India, McDonald's operates through a 50-50 joint venture in partnership with Amit Jatia's Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt Ltd and Vikram Bakshi's Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt Ltd for the western and northern operations, respectively.
"We are planning to invest about Rs 80 crore during the year to launch 25 new outlets. We plan to open 90 new outlets in next three years in view of the growing popularity for food we are serving. We believe and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle," said Amit Jatia, joint venture partner and managing director for western and southern India, McDonald's.
