Planet Hollywood Lands in Bollywood
Planet Hollywood International Signs Franchise Agreement with Arch Millennium Corp. to Bring the World-Famous Movie Restaurant Concept to India
Planet Hollywood International announced today that it has signed a master franchise agreement with Arch Millennium Corp. to develop five Planet Hollywood restaurants in India.
"I am thrilled that we have found the right partners to open in India, a country that has huge potential for the Planet Hollywood brand," commented Robert Earl, founder and chairman of Planet Hollywood. "This franchise agreement will bring the excitement of Hollywood and combine it with the power of Bollywood in a very special way. It is a recipe for a huge success."
Planet Hollywood offers a very unique dining experience inspired by the movie world. "We intend to bring to India great food, customer service and interactive entertainment," Earl went on to say. "We already have some great movie props picked out for India from Hollywood's biggest blockbusters!"
Each Planet Hollywood houses an amazing display of memorabilia from movies old and new, and the locations in India will be no different. The interior decor reflects various movie genre including action, romance, horror and sci-fi. The state-of-the-art audiovisual system plays the latest movie trailers, clips, music videos, classic montages, celebrity visits and satellite links. The Planet guest in India will be able to see what is happening in other Planet locations such as New York, Las Vegas, Orlando, London and Paris.
"Planet Hollywood will change the landscape on how restaurants are launched and managed, and we look forward to stars like Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone visiting India for the first time. We are delighted to bring Planet Hollywood to India as the largest franchisee in the world," according to Atul Bisaria, chairman of Arch Millennium Corp. and Shubh Hotels USA.
"Planet Hollywood India will also be a virtual shrine dedicated to the movies, and provide the most exciting and valuable guest experience in theme dining and entertainment. Planet Hollywood would be a ticket to a good meal and see the coming together of Mumbai with New York, Delhi with London and Bangalore with Paris," said Siddharth Mobar, president & CEO of Arch Millennium Corp. and India Operations.
The Planet Hollywood brand is also moving into the hotel, resort and casino businesses. An investment group led by Earl recently purchased the Aladdin Resort and Casino, which is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Once renovations are complete in 2006 the property will be rebranded the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. The property has more than 2,500 guest rooms, 110,000 square feet of casino space and a 7,000-seat theater for concerts, shows and TV broadcasts. "This shows the continued strength of Planet Hollywood as an entertainment brand," commented Earl.
