MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS) , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, and Whitbread Group PLC, a United Kingdom based T.G.I. Friday's franchisee, are pleased to announce that all of Whitbread's 43 T.G.I. Friday's restaurants will be upgrading their current MICROS point-of-sale with MICROS RES3000 for point-of-sale, MICROS Kitchen Display System for kitchen management, Mobile MICROS for tableside ordering, mymicros.net for real-time business intelligence, and RES Product Management for inventory management, all operating on MICROS Workstation 4 touch screen terminals.

Whitbread has chosen MICROS RES3000, along with Mobile MICROS as its technology platform to support tableside ordering as well as "chip and pin payment," the credit card security standard being adopted in the United Kingdom along with other European and Asian countries.

"Whitbread has enjoyed a very strong partnership with MICROS for many years," stated James Jackson, Director of Outlet IT. "Whitbread has sought to lead the industry with its use of technology to improve service for guests whilst enhancing efficiency and profitability. We performed an extended evaluation of Mobile MICROS hand-held terminals for tableside ordering and payment using various metrics to determine the returns from this technology, including better service for guests, faster table turns, check averages, and labour cost savings. We have had great feedback from staff and guests, and are very pleased with the results and decided to deploy Mobile MICROS to all our T.G.I. Friday's restaurants as the primary tool for servers to place orders."

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Whitbread as it seeks to lead the industry with MICROS technology," stated Frank Ward, Managing Director for MICROS-Fidelio UK. "With the total MICROS solution, including the award winning MICROS Kitchen Display System, mymicros.net, and MICROS's Product Management, Whitbread's T.G.I. Friday's restaurants will provide fast, efficient service with excellent food quality, all while increasing table turns and check averages, which will directly improve its revenues and profits."
