Sodexho Inc. Appoints Richard Macedonia President and Chief Executive
Sodexho Inc., a provider of food services management, on Tuesday named Richard Macedonia president and chief executive.
He replaces Michel Landel, who will become chief executive of the company's parent Sodexho Alliance SA in September. Landel currently serves as president and chief operating officer of Sodexho Alliance.
Macedonia has been president and chief operating officer of Sodexho since 2003. In his new position, he will oversee the company's divisions, $5.8 billion in annual sales, and more than 6,000 clients, the company said.
Last September, Sodexho Alliance named Landel its next chief executive as part of an effort to enhance the company's efficiency and separate the roles of chairman and chief executive. Chairman Pierre Bellon will step down as chief executive in September this year, but will remain chairman.
American depositary shares of Sodexho Alliance fell 47 cents, or 1.6 percent, to $29.72 on the New York Stock Exchange in morning trading.
