Cheesecake Charms a Critic
There wasn't any market-moving news to report on chow chain Cheesecake Factory (Nasdaq: CAKE) yesterday -- at least, not that I could find -- but since I bet the company's PR department spent much of the day gushing over one tidbit, I thought I'd pass it on.
The company's White Flint, Md., mall store got a nice bit of pub recently from Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema, and the reason why is worth hearing.
It seems a diner settling in for a pre-presentation dinner found herself suddenly and unexpectedly dunked in a pool of iced tea. Refreshing as that may sound in summertime, it isn't exactly iced-tea weather in the Washington, D.C., area these days.
