Location No Challenge For Chef On Demand
Chef on Demand will prepare any meal the guests want, while staff at the Le Meridien resort will serve it anywhere they want
“Location, location, location” is the cry from the Chef on Demand at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, the upscale lifestyle resort in Dubai, who will serve his own brand of “couture cuisine” wherever the guests choose.
The service is available for all Club guests, who can select their menus, as well as their place of dining every evening, with the combination of home favourites served on a private balcony proving to be a popular choice.
According to Michael Scully, general manager of the hotel, the Chef on Demand concept represents a chance for the hotel to really look after their guests – and initial indications show that the service has already captured people’s imagination.
He said: “Most of our guests are here for five days or more, and are looking to broaden their horizons through the visit – at least from a dining point of view.
“We’ve had requests from the sublime, such as caviar and champagne served on a balcony, to the ridiculous, such as family childhood recipes. However, one thing they all have in common was that the menu was designed specifically around what the guest wanted.
“With the enthusiasm and support of the guests, and the assistance of the internet to trace some obscure foreign dishes, we haven’t had to disappoint anyone yet!”
The Chef on Demand concept revolves around a personal consultation with the guests over breakfast when they can also make use of the Eggs on Demand facility.
Scully said: “The Club guests enjoy chatting to Andrew Stansbie, our Chef on Demand, at breakfast, and many have taken up the challenge of inviting him to prepare one of their favourite meals. While many choose to eat on their private balconies, we have had requests for dinner to be served on the beach and on a yacht.”
This move is the latest development at the upscale resort, which underwent significant landscape extensions in 2003, with its beach and marina already reaching 1,200 metres.
The resort, which has the longest private beach in the emirate, is now the first five-star property in Dubai to offer a football and rugby training pitch.
Mina Seyahi is already renowned for its exciting sporting calendar and for the choice of leisure facilities available. Key to these are the extensive watersport options, including a 145 berth luxury marina, deep sea fishing, PADI diving, windsurfing, water skiing, canoes and five swimming pools.
The resort comes into its own with as a total lifestyle destination, and is rapidly being the outdoor venue of choice for concerts, extreme sports competitions, Formula 1 Powerboating, as well as the essential Mina Moon Beach Party, where international DJs make guest appearances, and hip clubbers party under the stars.
