Growing Concepts  Concepts that have grown by at least 5% (if less than 50 units). 

CHICKEN EXPRESS of Weatherford, TX (founded 1988) has increased by 4 units, from 162 to 166 (2% growth) and expanded into LA.  These are quick serve restaurants with seating for around 40.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $3-$8.  Catering, drive-thru and patio seating are available.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in AR, GA, LA, OH and TX.

FOX & HOUND RESTAURANT GROUP based in Wichita, KS has increased by 1 unit for Champps, from 56 to 57 (2% concept growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 350.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $8-$20.  Other company concepts are Bailey's (20) and Fox & Hound (65).  Overall company increase is from 141 to 142 (1% company growth).  Locations are in AL, AR, AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA and WI.

SANDELLA'S FLATBREAD CAFÉ of West Redding, CT (founded 1994) has increased by 23 units, from 50 to 73 (46% growth).  These are fast casual restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $3-$8.  Franchising and online ordering are offered.  Locations are in AZ, CA, CT, IN, MA, MD, MI, NC, ND, NY, OH, PA, TX, UT, VA and WA.

Louisville, KY-based WICK'S PIZZA PARLOR (founded 1991) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  These family/casual Italian and pizza restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person price range.  Locations have full bar and seating for about 100.  Catering, delivery and private party services are available.  The restaurants are in IN and KY.

Holland, OH-based SCRAMBLER MARIE'S BREAKFAST BISTRO(founded 1990) has increased by 1 unit, from 14 to 15 (7% growth) and entered into MI.  This is a family/casual breakfast and lunch concept, with a $6-$12 per person check average.  Units seat about 250 and offer private party services.  Locations are in MI and OH, with a Florence, KY location scheduled to open soon.

Whitehall, OH-based MASSEY'S PIZZA (founded 1949) has increased by 2 units, from 9 to 11 (22% growth) and entered into IN and SC.  The restaurants are quick serve, open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 70.  Catering and online ordering services are available.  Stores are franchised and trade in IN, OH, and SC.

Athens, GA-based YOUR PIE has increased by 5 units, from 7 to 12 (71% growth) and entered into FL.  This is a family/casual pizzeria concept, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $6-$15+, serving beer and wine.  Units seat about 60 and offer catering and delivery services.  Locations are franchised and trade in FL, GA, and SC.

GARDEN FRESH RESTAURANT CORP of San Diego, CA (founded 1978) has increased by 6 units for Sweet Tomatoes, from 78 to 84 (8% concept growth).  These are buffet restaurants with seating for around 250.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Catering is offered.  The second company concept is Souplantation (40).  Overall company growth is from 118 to 124 (5% growth).  Locations are in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KS, MO, NC, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT and WA.  We last reported on this concept on 7/12/11 (2% company growth).  

Whitewater, WI-based TOPPERS PIZZA (founded 1991) has increased by 9 units, from 30 to 39 (30% growth) and entered into KY and NE.  The restaurants are quick serve, open for lunch and dinner, with seating for about 50.  Catering, delivery and online ordering services are available. Locations are franchised and trade in IL, IN, KY, MN, NC, NE, OH, and WI.  We last featured this concept on 4/26/11 (15% growth)

Lakeway, TX-based FORD RESTAURANT GROUP (founded 1989) has increased by 4 units for the Rudy’s Country Store BBQ concept, from 29 to 33 (14% concept growth) and entered AZ.  The company also operates Elite Circle Grill (1) and Ozona Grill & Bar (2).  Overall company increase was from 33 to 36 (9% growth), due to the closing of the Kona Ranch concept (1 unit).  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person check average.  Locations sell beer and seat about 200.  Catering and online ordering services are available.  Trading areas are AZ, CO, NM, OK, and TX.  We last wrote about this company on 2/22/11 (3% growth).

Marietta, GA-based STEVI B'S PIZZA (founded 1996) has increased by 1 unit, from 46 to 47 (2% growth) and entered into PA.  This is a pizza buffet concept, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person price range is $6-$12 and seating is for about 175.  Private party services are available.  Locations are franchised and trade in AL, FL, GA, MI, OH, PA, SC, TN, and WI.  We last featured this concept on 6/14/11 (18% growth).
